Our Story

Richard and Elizabeth Albertson started Live the Life in the back of their townhouse in 1998 with a mission to strengthen marriages and families. They started Live the Life out of the painful lessons learned from the brokenness of their own marriage. With the growing cancer of divorce and family breakdown spreading across America, Richard and Elizabeth’s passion is to provide individuals and couples the practical tools, skills and resources needed to transform marriages and families. After many years of steady growth and increased impact, Live the Life became a statewide organization in 2011. Today Live the Life has offices in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale, and is recognized nationally in the marriage and relationship education field.

Our Strategic Goals

The goals to transform each community we serve are bold and simple:

1.     Reduce the Florida divorce rate by 50% by 2029

2.     Increase the marriage rate

3.     Reduce teen pregnancy and out of wedlock births

Our Vision

Great relationships start here!

America has all the Relationship and Marriage Education (RME) programs and tools needed to achieve our strategic goals, we just need to bring them to scale in more communities across Florida.

We are looking for serious leaders who share our vision for strong marriages and families, and are willing to go “all in” to transform their community in dramatic ways.  We believe this vision is contagious.  Working together, we see the enormous potential to create and build “divorce-free zones” where divorces are rarely, if ever, wanted or needed, and where strong marriages are encouraged, nurtured, developed, and maintained.  We think this is what the kids want, it is what healthy parents want, and most people understand at a gut level this is what our ailing society desperately needs.

We believe we can achieve a 50% reduction in the divorce rate in any county in Florida within 5-7 years if we can achieve a level of funding at $1 per person per year.
