YOUR PARTNERSHIP MATTERS

How north florida and south georgia can win the war on marriage

There has been a decades-long struggle for the soul of the family. While divorce rates have declined and marriage rates are modestly improving, these gains remain fragile. Research consistently shows that family disintegration undermines community health, educational outcomes, and economic mobility (Wilcox & Kline, 2023; Amato, 2014). Stable marriages are essential for emotional resilience, effective parenting, and intergenerational well-being (Waite & Gallagher, 2000).

Our organization delivers proven, research-based programs that strengthen marriages and restore families. Hope Weekend, a three-day intensive for couples in crisis, achieves an 85% success rate in saving marriages. Start Smart, our pre-marital education program, reduces the likelihood of divorce by 30%. Additionally, research has shown that 8–12 hours of structured marriage education, such as our Adventures in Marriage workshop, significantly increases marital satisfaction and sustains it for six to twelve months post-participation (Stanley et al., 2006; Hawkins et al., 2012).

We seek strategic partnerships with churches, community leaders, and organizations to expand these life-changing programs—lowering divorce rates, strengthening marriages, and increasing church attendance from Tallahassee through the rural counties of North Florida and South Georgia. Together, we can win the war on marriage, and create a better tomorrow for our children and our grandchildren.

The Power of Partnership: A Ripple Effect of Hope

At Live the Life, we believe in the transformative power of partnership, united by a common faith and mission: to further the Gospel, strengthen families, and save marriages in crisis. We are incredibly grateful to our many partners all over north Florida and south Georgia. It is relationships like Rick and Stephany Wagner at Evans Memorial Camp Inc., whose partnerships create a ripple effect across our region.

Our partnership with the Wagners has yielded remarkable fruit, including over a dozen marriages saved from divorce. It has also brought relationships "left for dead" back to life, a testament best exemplified by the story of Trent and Christine Register.

Trent and Christine's Story: From Despair to Purpose

Trent's journey began at Evans Memorial Camp, a rehab in south Georgia, after a series of devastating losses: his law enforcement career, a near-fatal accident, and a marriage teetering on the brink. It was there that Rick and Stephany Wagner, the camp's CEOs, introduced him to Live the Life’s "Adventures in Marriage" program. With a flicker of hope, Trent invited Christine to attend a marriage retreat with him, a last effort at reconciliation.

Within days, God's grace transformed their lives. Their marriage was revived and restored, Trent was delivered from alcoholism, and they were called out of their pain into a greater purpose. Today, Trent and Christine serve as volunteer marriage coaches for Live the Life Tallahassee, sharing their powerful testimony of God's restorative power.

Rick and Stephany's Journey: A Partnership Born of Hope

How did Rick and Stephany come to know about Live the Life Tallahassee? A few years prior, experiencing burnout in their ministry and struggles in their own marriage, a local financial partner gave them the opportunity to attend a Hope Weekend. It was there that they met Jimmy and Angie Cash, the retreat's instructors. Three days later, Rick and Stephany emerged with a marriage beyond their wildest dreams.

Since then, they have become dedicated partners with Live the Life, sponsoring at least six marriage retreats in the south Georgia area. These retreats have seen four divorced couples reconcile and remarry – a true testament to the impact of their partnership.

Jimmy and Angie's Path: From Crisis to Leadership

Jimmy and Angie Cash's journey with Live the Life began several years ago, when a local pastor referred them to Doug Stephens, Director of the Tallahassee office. The couple was in desperate need of reconciliation after a devastating affair. Live the Life provided them with crucial counseling and conflict resolution skills, helping them navigate their crisis recovery. Their healing significantly accelerated after attending a Hope Weekend, where they experienced profound growth in emotional intimacy, trust, and restoration. Today, Jimmy is a lead instructor for Hope Weekends, and Angie, a pre-licensed therapist, volunteers as a co-instructor.
